This is why, I believe, kiva.org and the grameen bank and the like are extraordinarily awesome and powerful and capable of making huge impacts. In some cases it's the super wealthy that can and will make a positive difference (bill gates and all of the silicon valley rich guys who are spreading the wealth and resources), but it's definitely not going to be the governments--those seemingly most capable and available to help things--I mean, some gov's are doing good stuff, but there are always strings, and there are always hordes of folks taking advantage of it, and there are many governments that are ruthless with the wealth provided to them. And so I think it'll be through regular folks like me and you, who do indeed make a lot of money (in wordly standards), and through the use of helpful organizations like kiva. A lot of small change can go a long way.
