That blows. I can't see how they can rank anyone if that's the case. Looks like you were running fast enough to place in the top 100 too. Very cool.
Sounds like your running is getting better in general. How are you feeling so far, particularly with regard to your longer runs? (I noticed you did a nine-miler last week so half-marathon distance is within reach now. Sort of.)
seriously! how stupid can they be! I think I may have been in the top 100. It was hard to place myself in the starting line because of all the people in front of me who were walkers...I didn't notice too many 'elite' type of runners. I am feeling ok with the longer runs...I am debating what my run distance will be the week before the PDR. I'm running out of time! Though I think I can get away with doing 10 and still be able to survive the half marathon. On my long runs I am able to easily run around a 9-min mile pace...I usually start off slow and the middle of the run I speed up. By about 45-50 minutes I get tired but I fight through it. I'm going to try out one of those gel thingys next week I think. Do you not think that I'll be ready based on my mileage??
Based on how you're feeling, it sounds like you could handle the Distance Run now! Though your time won't be as good as it will be in September I think.
From the way it's going, I think you'll beat the time you had in your last half-marathon by about 5 minutes. (I'm thinking you'll average 8:45 a mile or better.)
