It's probably going to pass, but meanwhile maybe you could comfort yourself a little by creating an "evacuation plan" or something for them. Put some food in a tupperware, water in a bottle, and keep their carriers somewhere handy. I sometimes lay in bed thinking about what I would do if there was a fire or something. How would I get the two cats out? Minnie might be easy, but Bennett??? And what about the bird? The cage is easy to grab, but could I carry it and two cats???

So what I'm saying is, while it may not be perfectly "normal," (I can't claim to be that) you're not alone.

yeah, i think that might help. i definitely need to get another carrier for them -- i don't think they would take kindly to getting stuffed into the same little cat carrier. :)

You could just drape Sammy round your neck like a scarf. He would be cooperative during a rescue, I think. :)
