i saw noises off on saturday and it's amazing what going back to my old high school can do to me. [the show, it was amazing. cast and crew, my hat is off to you.] i bit my nails throughout the whole damn thing; i can't tell if it was from the excitement of live theatre (how nerdy) or because just being present there brings me back to a time when ( Read more... )

it's interesting, your poignant observations on high school and looking back. Everything looks so much warmer and fuzzier in hindsight--and, truthfully, there were some great times at Lincoln. But then again, there are benefits to adulthood too--yes? I mean, with power comes responsability, but also vice versa. Remember when having a sex life was technically illegal?

oh, i didn't mean it to come out like that. adulthood (well, semi-adulthood) certainly has its benefits and high school really, really sucked. i also think that my high-energy weirdness in high school was a defense mechanism of some sort (to avoid getting sucked into depression) as is my relative collectedness now (to not get fired).

i still miss drama at lincoln, the foyer, and the time you called me a donut-bumper. those weren't really the days, but they were definitely days. hah.

it's funny, isn't it? I mean, I was so excited when I heard they were doing Noises Off, but then again, I knew I wasn't going to be able to see it ( ... )

Today we had THE MOST BORING CHEME SEMINAR EVER but thank god I had the knitting needles you gave me and some yarn. I sat in the back and knitted mindlessly and thought of something else and stared at the speaker, trying to look vaguely interested, and ha! I was the only one who didn't fall asleep. Yay mindless knitting with awesomely cool plumwood needles.

Zing!

Tracy. OK, so. Let's meet up for coffee (let's set a date/time, instead of vague let's do something's) and talk about High School and things, because I'm getting the weird nostalgic feelings, too. And even though I've seen you at work a few times, I feel so out of my normal element there and it feels like I still haven't hung out with you in forever.

agreed.

i don't know when, though. it's the end of the term so i feel ridiculously swamped... i shouldn't have procrastinated so much. i do really want to hang out, though. um um um. i'll try to get stuff done tonight so i don't feel guilty about hanging out instead of doing homework, and then i'll call you tomorrow. are you working?
