"i guess i'm flipping out about it now cuz i don't want to set in stone a career in flute performance only to find out later i really loved piano more. maybe it's also because it's less stressful and WAY less pressure to be good on the piano. "
wow. its funny cuz i've been having almost that exact same thought, except vice versa (piano/flute). :P
as for the piano stuff, i'll paraphrase my dad and say it's how much you enjoy it that matters :) i mean i know people who have played piano forever and are pretty good but hate it. and in the end, thats what matters right? if you're not doing piano just for the sake of being famous or earning a lot of money (which i trust you are not :P haha) but you're playing piano because you love it, and you can enjoy what you play, thats really all that matters. learning doesnt have to stop after high school/college.
theres nothing wrong with feeling the way you do though :) im sure a little regret is healthy once in awhile haha jkjk
i wish you the best of luck :D go for your dreams!
