Barthday Week = SUCCESS!

I meant to send this aaaages ago. I'll spare you all the reading:

Monday, August 24th:
Ryan and I make stir-fry at midnight. We make so much that he packs me some for lunch. I eat it. To honor Alice's homecoming, we meet at Big Chicks for burgers and I make her watch Phantom of the Paradise, my current cinematic infatuation (it's like Rocky Horror but with PAUL WILLIAMS!). She updates me on her life, and when she asks me how I am, I can't complain a single bit, which makes me happy.

Tuesday, August 25th:
The band practices, and then drinks margaritas at The Mutiny. My drink is free. Ryan owns our asses in pool. Ryan walks me home and we eat chips and salso on my roof. He tells me he doesn't know what to get me. I tell him we've been dating for 4 months. He tells me I'm gay.

Wednesday, August 26th (MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY):
I get tons of Facebook love and talk to my mother for an hour. Dad even calls! I go to Ryan's and take a nap before dinner and wake up to him and 3 presents, all of them beautiful antique broaches (GOOD CHOICE!). We go to Cafe Bolero with Garrett and drink Sangria and burgers stuffed with bacon and green olives (ORGASM). Garrett and Ryan flirt with each other. We go to The Mutiny again, and again, my drink is free. Ryan owns my ass in pool.

Thursday, August 27th:
We play a kick-ass show at The Mutiny with Division & Honore and Patrick Thunder and a good number of people show up to party! HERE'S THE FLYER! Alex makes me a HUUUGE balloon hat and The Mutiny gives me a cake! AGAIN, my drinks are free, and this time, they are HUGE and fancy. I see Kevin Anderson for the first time in a good couple of years, and he loves the band! Ed (the owner of the bar) gives me many hugs and despite some friction with the set, it's a perfect night!

Friday, August 28th:
Ryan and I spend lotsa cash to see Harry Potter in Imax 3D (and Ryan pays TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS to park at Navy Pier), and turns out, IT'S ONLY 3D FOR FIFTEEN FUCKING MINUTES!!! We enjoy it anyway and go to the Brauhaus afterwards for a pretzel and German yodeling. We attempt to watch Presopolis, but I fall asleep a lot.

Saturday, August 29th:
I eat combination fried rice and do the Improv Gladiators Finale. Garrett brings 10 people and makes a bunch of great suggestions. Justin and I eat a LOT of sugar and I can't remember the rest of the night.

Sunday, August 30th:
Ryan and I wake up very late and have brunch at some posh place on Broadway called Bananas Foster (they did not have Bananas Foster on their menu = LAME). We go to antique stores looking for jewelry and shakers and find both. I own Ryan's ass at pool. I finally see Inglorious Basterds with Sarah for her birthday and love it (but not as much as the Kill Bills). I practice with the boys until waaaay too late, take Ryan home with me, where he smokes and watches Jurassic Park with Sarah while I go to sleep.

Monday, August 31st:
It takes me 45 minutes to wake Ryan up (it makes me miss waking up my brother). I get to work late and completely forget that my workplace gave me 2 tix for the Cubs game tonight!! I call Sarah and invite her. I feel like a good roommate slash wife slash friend. Afterwards, we walk around a while and eat the shit out of some Popeye's. I realize that birthday week is over, but it doesn't really feel like it is.

Long story short, I feel really really good about 25.
