I'm amused because the waving thing was originally just to flag another biker that there was a cop ahead. Now no one can tell shit since everyone does it. It's not like I wave to other people in cars.

Actually, a tap on the helmet is the universal motorcyclists sign for a LEO (law enforcment office) ahead.

yea i've heard the tap on the helmet thing as a cop ahead! granted I probably learned it from piotr :P

besides i like the way i learned it all more than jon's Boooooring version ;)

I've seen that too. Not sure which one actually came first though. There's probably varying opinions on that one depending on who you ask though. *Shrug*

I'm just in the habit of not removing my hands from the handle bars at high speeds. :)

BTW: sport bikers put their hand out to the side because they are leaning forward on their motorcycles. To do a little princess wave we would need to sit straight up, which the bike was not designed for.
