So here is my summary of the rest of London that I didnt get chance to write while I was there. I'm sad now I'm back, but it was a bloody good week and I've decided that we are going to go much much more often now. We'll just have to look out for good deals all the time. Plus I'm going again on 6th Feb to see Wicked (hopefully).
Wednesday we went to see Wicked at 2pm. The theatre was packed and definitely the biggest theatre we've been in so far. It was busy with a school trip full of girls (wearing very horrid uniforms too lol). We had very good seats though, we were so close and could see so much detail. The set was amazing. Everyone was taking pictures and I felt naughty but I took a sneaky one too - though it didnt really turn out very well it was a bit dark.
Anyway, Wicked is officially fantastic. I was so pleased to see Kerry Ellis was playing Elphaba because I've heard how good she is, and Diane Pilkington was fantastic as Glinda too - though to see the pictures of them both in the programme you would think they played the opposite roles. I also never realised just how much of a comical role Glinda has, but she really was amazing at it. The monkeys scared me a little bit, but it was all good.
I really really want to go and see it again soon. It was very good and I ended up buying the programme, a key ring and the book, though I know the book was probably double the price you could get in any normal shop but Ric insisted.
In the afternoon we were supposed to be going to see LOTR but Ric really wasnt feeling well so we cancelled the tickets. The lady assured us that if we rang the day after we would get tickets, but when we did the cheapest tickets they had were £60 and the ones released on the day werent released until 1pm when the show started at 2pm, and we had to travel all the way to covent gardens which is no where near the theatre. So we ended up not going. Ric was very upset because he said he felt like he disappointed me but he has promised we can go back and see it another day, though to be honest he's not the biggest fan so I think he would prefer it if someone else would come with me (anyone else fancy seeing LOTR? It's supposed to be really really good!)
Instead we spent the afternoon walking around seeing the sights and going on the London eye which is really good. Ric didnt feel well enough to sit and watch a show but he was ok to see the sights. I hopefully have some good pictures too but I've not uploaded them yet.
Thursday we had a very relaxing day in until Avenue Q in the evening. I really do recommend it to anyone! No matter how often you have listened to the Cd's, I have listened to them a lot, it is so much funnier seeing it with the puppets. The bad idea bears, which I didnt even know existed were so funny. This little old coupe were sat next to me, very sweet but they were laughing their heads off really loud at all the rude bits lol.
Its really weird as well because you start off mesmerised by the puppeteers, but then half way through you suddenly realise that you arent even watching them anymore and are completely watching the puppets. The people doing it are very very talented. They all put on really really good voices, and sing with them too, and most of them do more than one part. Kate Monster, cant remember her real name, was the best. She did an amazing job as Kate and Lucy the Slut. She even had a few conversations with herself at one point.
Afterwards we had a gorgeous meal at a Steakhouse just around the corner which was really really nice. It was one of the nicest meals we've had out in a long while.
I am going to make the most of the cheap train tickets over the next few weeks and try and see wicked again at least once, and hopefully someone will come and see LOTR with me. Plus my mum has said she will go and see avenue q at half term. I would like to see rent again because it was so powerful hearing it live and so loud, but I know that finishes soon.
Anyway, all in all the whole week was fantastic. I wish I could do it all again, I love London. I dont think I oculd ever live there, id hate it its far too busy, but I do like visiting.
