Actually, they work pretty well for me. They don't make me fall a sleep much faster, but I don't end up laying awake for hours. Also, I don't wake up randomly as often when I use them.
I think my insomnia might be worse than yours. Sorry I didn't call you back last night. After I woke up from my nap, things got a little crazy. Let's hang out soon, though.
If I don't take anything, I have a lot of trouble getting to sleep, especially if I have something to wake up for. Like I had an exam yesterday, and I stayed up a too late to take any sleep aids and ended up only getting like 2 hours of sleep. I was in bed awake for over two hours trying to get to sleep :(. I just stay up way too late in general even though I finally quit my night job; I guess I'm just used to the hours. Oh, also stimulants like caffeine or nicotine to close to sleepy time can keep you up. I know I'm guilty of caffeine use before I go to bed.

so I'm guessing you've tried melatonin then? i've never been able to fall asleep quickly, and lately i keep waking up, and when i take it i sleep through the night. wow i sound like a commercial. but really. works even better than wine.
