He's doing better now. He was in a bit of pain last night, but he listened and kept his arm elevated through out the night. They put in 5 stitches, a starry-strip (sp?)and dressing. so no splits needed. They actually recommended that he kept using the finger since there's tendons involved to prevent from hardening up.
And you're right about Emergency rooms! I was panicking about how long it took!! Had it been a workday instead of Sunday (and for some strange reasons, Jon only gets injured on weekends!) we would have gone to a primary care doctor or urgent care instead of Emergency.
Glad he's all better and didn't put up a fuss about the ER trip! *hugs* You reacted great, I can't believe how cool, calm, and collected you were. Great job! :)
