To friends who ALREADY make their own Chinese soups, this is going to sound totally lame. But last night, I made my first batch of Chinese chicken soup (you know, the one with the red dates, longan meat and goji berries)!!!!
I had bought myself one of those fancy Zojirushi Thermal cooker pot. Then I went to the Chinese supermarket and bought a spring chicken and chinese dried herbs.
I boiled the goods for 15 mins, put the pot into the thermal insulating outer pot, lock it up and went to sleep. This morning, I woke up to yummy goodness! It was so flavourful I didn't even needed to add salt!
I'm already planning to make oxtail soup this weekend. Seriously, it was so easy, I don't know why I didn't do it before!
