That volunteer party (not to mention the chatting time with Paul and David this weekend) sounds amazing. A huge part of me wishes I volunteered this year, though I was way too busy. Perhaps next year...sounds super cool and like it worked out for you though, for sure.

And that's awesome about that Girls Rock is coming to St. Louis then. I'll probably be in town that weekend for the New Pornographers/Okkervil River concert so I might actually end up seeing it then. Who knows. And god, I'll second that recommendation for "Man on Wire"--what a film!

Any pains of volunteering (and there weren't many) were totally worth it, just for that volunteer party. We had free beer and wine (and free Jones soda, heck yes!) the whole night, awesome dance parties and we got to explore the ins and outs of the Old Ragtag. Everyone and their mother was there, so I would definitely recommend making your way to it next year. Even if you don't end up volunteering, you were definitely able to get into this one without a pass. They were pretty lax about it, especially once it got so big.

I'm jealous that you got to see Gonzo. I was scheduled to work during both showings, so I didn't have the opportunity. I heard it was great.

How was Gimme Truth? I've volunteered during this both years so I've never made it. I also heard that Please Vote for Me was pretty good.

It was really fun; some great shorts. They were filming it for a TV pilot though, so we had to go to commercial break after every video and voting sessions, meaning we had to clap like 40 times, once to clap them out, once to clap them back in.
