Today I am at the Gateway store. Maybe three people have come in and I'm bored out of my wits. This store isn't barefoot friendly and it's too hot. Oh beautiful day! I walked down Belmont and into Laurelhurst Park in the early evening. My senses were all wide open. Snippets of conversation as I passed people with cell phones or visiting at bistro tables. Cars, birds, music from a cafe. The certain slant of light I love at 4 and 5 pm. I love my boyfriend.

Just got back from dropping off my brother. The Columbia river gorge is getting even more beautiful. There are so many waterfalls this time of year and the trees are all getting their leaves. My commute to work was lovely this morning: bright clouds intermingled with dark ones, clear bursts of sunshine, deep green forested hillsides.
