Title: Five Ways SS501 Didn't Happen
Rating: G
A/N: Taken from the massive prompts list over at
gyonggo. Massive fail, mostly because I haven't written in ages. Also my first double S fic, so, hmm XD i might try writing better SS501 fic, if i am ever so inspired
1. Hyunjoong
Hyunjoong dreams of bright lights and the sound of crowds cheering his name. He has his bags packed and ready to go when his mother corners him, mouth tight, eyes pleading.
“Don’t go,” she says, “please,” and Hyunjoong thinks of the cold of streets and strangers, and stays.
Years later he will watch the debut of 4Ever, laugh at their band’s name, and switch the TV off in mid-performance.
2. Youngsaeng
It’s easy enough to get lost in the cacophony that is twelve other boys, and even easier to stay lost. Sometimes Youngsaeng thinks he prefers it like this. He never has to dance in front, and hardly ever has to talk on shows. It’s a strange sort of not-quite-anonymity that he’s pretty much comfortable with.
“Four lines. Whoopee,” Yehsung mutters sourly as he sinks onto the couch next to Youngsaeng. “I swear, we have too many - what?”
“Nothing,” Youngsaeng says. He doesn’t have the heart to tell Yehsung that this isn’t quite what either of them dreamed of.
3. Jungmin
Nobody is all that surprised when Jungmin decides he’d rather be an actor than a singer.
“I’m too fabulous to get all sweaty from dancing,” Jungmin sniffs. “Besides, I think I’m going to be much better solo.”
“Get out of our practice room, traitor,” Hyungjoon yells from across the room, and Jungmin rolls his eyes dramatically before ducking out.
4. Kyujong
Kyujong doesn’t tell anybody he’s leaving, mostly because he decides he doesn’t need their pity. He uses the last of his savings for the bus ticket back home.
It’s two days later when he receives a text from Jungmin. Where the hell are you?
He stares at the screen for the next ten minutes before he can finally bring himself to hit delete.
5. Hyungjoon
“And you’re sure about this?”
The truth is, Hyungjoon isn’t sure about this at all. “Yes, sir. I want to wait and debut with Kibum.”
“You’re a good brother,” their manager says, and Hyungjoon nods, and excuses himself.
To Kibum, maybe. He just isn’t sure if the other four are going to see it this way.
