after the disaster that was the oscars last night (and without even getting into the ceremony, jesus), i'm kind of curious about the overall reaction to the films/winners this year. i found the majority of my various social media timelines disappointed in the likes of argo, jennifer lawrence, and tarantino, (despite my bitchy commentary via twitter ( Read more... )

this isn't my full answer bc i don't have time for a full answer but off the top of my head i want a movie about women with ambition. but not the kind where the woman has to choose or she gets so caught up in her ambition that she neglects everything else and is terrible at balancing and she has to choose between love and ambition or she's shitty to love bc of her ambition or she's a bitch bc she's ambitious, i want to see a movie about women who are ambitious, who know what they want, who know how to get there, who get there, who get it all along the way bc it is possible, hollywood just doesn't believe it and i'm fucking sick of them convincing us otherwise.

at minute 27 you would walk in with a bag of wings and we would sit on the floor and eat out of the bag with our hands but not talk to each other. just eat

haven't watched anything in the oscars this year except for Life of Pi and that (cinematography-wise at least) was stunningly executed.

i'm a sucker for real-life (or at least could happen in real life) stories with dramatic twists that i shouldn't be able to second guess lol. Has to be plot-centered. I have no idea about tropes at all -___- so I couldn't say. But I really love demented characters, no matter what role they're in. Even if they're completely mental, there's a good chance I'll like that character.

I hate romance stories where the guy and the girl fall into a whirlwind romance and live happily ever after without much character development because it isn't really realistic??? Also hate those high school social hierarchy stories. We have enough of those already.

If I could make the perfect movie, pretty sure Heath Ledger's gonna be in it. And someone who can pull off a British accent. LOL.
