Finding After the End

Hello all,

I recently read After the End (I know, I'm a little behind) by Arabella and Zsenya after about a year of consistent prodding to do so by a good friend. I wish I hadn't waited. It was an excellent piece of fan fiction.

I'm looking into using Lulu to print out of copy of the story to give to my friend as a Christmas gift. I think it would go ( Read more... )

I believe that publishing fanfic is against Lulu's Terms of Service. Check. Also, I think it would be polite to get permission from the authors too before you start printing off (even one) published copy.

I agree with you Ros! I was hoping that one of the responses I'd get would be their contact information. If not (or they prove impossible to get hold of) they seem pretty clearly okay with the notion that their work will be printed. The message at the beginning of their pdf indicates as much.

Lulu does include a bit about publishing fanfic here: http://www.lulu.com/en/help/copyright_faq#copyright_notice. They state that they will not publish fanfic. Nevertheless, since I am not planning on publishing to the whole world and am printing only a private copy, I don't think there will be a problem.

I'll try contacting them via LJ.

I'm not sure how to go about contacting them other than sending them a message on LJ or whatnot.

I, personally, have my own bound copy that I printed off some time ago. I believe A&Z knew/know and okay'd people doing that some time ago, too. But, it might be best to get in contact with them. Hope that helps.

I'm sitting in the same room with Z, and she's fine with people printing personal copies of AtE. As far as copies in a different format, though, if the versions posted at the Yahoo group aren't of help, your best bet might be to try to find a copy of Adobe Pro and export from the PDF (A&Z didn't produce the PDF - a reader was kind of enough to do that).
