I need to write a proper post but It is with great sorrow but relief to me that the Mcstay family has been found. Not alive unfortunately but at least their families can rest in peace.

It was a mystery that truly hit me on a personal level when I began looking into it back in 2010.

RIP Mcstay Family

I remember it too. Crazy this is how it ended. I thought they may have been taken to Mexico.

I had debated the Mexico theory as well but the fact they left over 100k in their bank account always bothered me because who does this? Especially when you are starting a new life somewhere as the detectives seemed to believe? That's a big chunk of change to leave behind!

Sad ending that's for sure!

Yes. This family of four randomly vanished and the lead investigators seemed to think they just went to Mexico because there was this family of four that crossed the border walking on video but the video was blurry as all fuck and basically shadows so you truly couldn't tell. Plus their SUV was found in a parking lot near the border at a store. Their passports weren't in the house which added to the theory they just randomly decided to fuck off and cut all cords.

The story didn't add up to me. The dog was left outside starving and they were known animal lovers. Their house was left in a weird state, eggs half beaten on the counter, half eaten bowl of popcorn on the couch. Their immediate family was adamant they wouldn't just up and leave and kept really pushing the investigation. They had just bought their house like 3 months prior and were mid renovations. There was over 100k in their bank account left untouched yet investigators really seemed to believe they left on their own accord for no reason. Lousy police work if you ask me.

I don't think so. They were so baffled on the whole thing that playing the "they went to Mexico" card was convenient for them but now they will have to solve this crime!
