the my favorite highway song isn't just striking the right chord with me for some reason? i disagree with your take on the singer's voice but that might just be because my tastes have changed pretty recently. he sounds really pop-ish and the song is just something generic that i'd hear on the radio. the chorus has a pretty powerful message so i have to appreciate that.
same about the pop/rock/alt sound of valencia, they just don't seem to be my cup of tea? it's a song i'd listen to idly but not one i see myself really enjoying any more, but yeah again that's because my tastes have changed recently lol. certain music obviously caters to a certain audience.
AND AGAIN with pierce the veil. i think his voice fits really nicely for the beat it cover though lmao.
