Habaek was sitting in the verandas that scattered all around his palace. He was sitting in the northernmost pavilion that give shade all thanks to the mighty trees above him. The god was dress in a regal hanbok made out of the finest silk. He loved to tease, so it was partially open to expose his beautiful abdomen. The handsome, young god was ( Read more... )

She observed the embroidery on her loop. It was a phoenix arcing gracefully around a branch of a maple tree, and she was nearly finished except for the finer details needed for the tail feathers. Delicate fingers paused as Nakbin peered out of her window, noting the sun's place in the sky. She put her embroidery down and rose, her magnificent hanbok trailing with her movement as red strings gently fluttered to the floor. Two chungjo, glittering, immediately caught the hem of her skirts ( ... )

He didn't know how long he was sleeping. Minutes can turn into hours easily. The gentle flowing of the waters around him, that he can control to whatever whim he pleases sang a soft song. The air around him was nice and cool and slightly damp because of the moisture.

He felt a soft caress and he was rather sensitive to touch. His golden-brown eyes slowly opened and mirrored his wife's gaze. "Nakbin." He drawled. Habaek raised a hand and started caressing his beautiful wife's cheek. His long, gentle fingers traced her soft, pink lips. He rose and shyly kissed her, like any lover would do to his beloved.

"Nakbin."

She leaned close to his hand as he touched her cheek. His hands were cool, but a different kind of warmth radiated from them too. He sat up and kissed her, and she almost laughed at the faint hesitation. Nakbin kissed him back and trailed a hand over the tattoo on his chest.

"What are you doing....you've missed tea..." She smiled prettily at him as she drew away for a bit.

"What are you doing....you've missed tea..."

The Lord of Water blinked for a second. "...I had to hide from this heat." Habaek said rather miffed. "That bastard of a cousin of mine likes to tease me." He added with a small pout. He knew he looked childish, and he sounded like one as well. He didn't care.

"I apologize." He said, his tone changed to a more gentle one. Habaek extended out a hand as he plucked a beautiful lotus blossom and tucked it to his beloved's hair. "How can I make it up to you then?" He proposed.

"Your cousin?"

She laughed softly as he tucked a lotus into her hair. She poked his chest.

"Do you want me chased by bees?"

So saying Nakbin rose.

"You can have tea with me, Habaek..." She extended an elegant hand toward him. "Come?"

"Your cousin?" His wife asked.

"Palk." Habaek answered her dryly. "The sun deity. He's one of the oldest, obviously." The water god rolled his eyes and shrugged. "He liked to tease others, except for Judong... those two are like two peas in a pod." In-short, they like to pick on me. He thought as he wrinkled his nose ( ... )

"Ah-- Habaek---"

In a swirl of silks and strings, Nakbin found herself trapped in her husband's embrace. She shivered at the feel of his touch, her lips parting.

"Please, Nakbin..."

It wasn't a question of how much he'd wanted her. She remembered it very well when they first met; something that she had said to him back then had made him mad, and he had never stopped hounding her until he got her into a bride's red colours with a veil hiding her face as she was brought to Suguk.

"Mui...." she whispered, unintentionally using his other name as she had both hands holding his face. She purred and had her lips by his throat.

Nakbin gave an awkward smile at that. Seowangmo was a gracious in-law, but she liked to have her daughter disciplined, not spoiled.

"Mm."

She pulled on his cheeks.

"You should smile more..."

She let go and had her arms around his neck.

"How about tea?"

Nakbin kissed his nose.

He rubbed his numb cheeks.

"Tea would be great." He replied to her while playing with her hair.

Huye had...panicked. He had not seen his sister in such an agony, and she had kept screaming that she did not want to give birth, but wanted to die. There were lots of blood, lots of it, and Huye had wanted to run away and ask for help until Murah slapped him to his senses and told him that he should catch the baby.

The baby turned out to be a healthy, pink-cheeked infant that looked like a girl Habaek. Nakbin had fainted right after and did not regain consciousness just yet. Chungjo had already cleaned up his sister and the child. Huye waited for Habaek's return, anxious.

He went to his mother to settle terms about the child. Sungwangmo had spoiled him, muchly. That's why he is considered as a brat. And, he didn't want to continue that damned vicious cycle. Of course, being such a motherly woman that she is, Sungwangmo, complied. But, Habaek knew that she would sneak up and spoil the child. He and Nakbin should be on their toes.

When a chunjo announced the news that Nakbin had already given birth. He immediately morphed himself into a dragon, the common form that people recognize him by and went to Suguk with much haste. He crashed into a wall, covering the floor with dust and debris. Habaek immediately went back into being a human and saw Hu-ye, who looked troubled.

"Is she alright? Is the baby alright?" He asked him rapidly. "And... what's a matter with you?"

"Hehe...hehe..erm." Huye was still a bit pale from the ordeal. "The child is healthy...she....um. Looks a lot like you. As for Nakbin---"

Huye had an arm around Habaek's arm and led him inside Nakbin's chamber.

Nakbin was still asleep, although paler than usual.

Hu-Ye took him to Nakbin's boudoir. She was lying on her bed, pale and she looked exhausted. He sat beside her, kissing her forehead. He turned to his confidant and said, "Leave us." He said to him, though in a respectful manner.

"Nakbin?" He whispered her name melodically to her ear. His hand clutched hers to assure her.

He stayed with her for the period she was bedridden. For four whole days, he was by her side. But on the fifth day, she woke up and she was strong enough to sit. But she was still too pale. It worried him. But, their feelings shifted from worry to joy at the sight of the babe. As the Chungjo gave the baby to his wife, Nakbin cried silently.

"She looks like you..." she told Habaek as she smiled through her tears.

He smiled stroking her tears away, "Really?" He said. "I think she looks like you."

"No, see?"

She held their daughter higher for him to see.

"A girl Habaek~"

She paused and tugged on his sleeve.

"I'm hungry..." >///<;

Habaek held the child once Nakbin held her higher. The baby was dressed in a swaddling cloth to keep it warm. He muttered something to his child's ear, it was a blessing. He then looked at child again. "Alright, alright." He said in surrender. "She looks like me."

Nakbin started to tug on his sleeve and said, "I'm hungry..."

"What does my lady wish to eat then?" He asked her. "But we need to name her first." He said, gently tickling the child.

"Kimbap," Nakbin replied enthusiastically.

They looked at the baby.

"Mm...Yuhwa...?" she said, blinking up at her husband.
