Very well written!! We Indians love royalty and the associated pomp and grandeur by our very nature. Or, maybe it relieves the monotony of an otherwise dull, inane and mundane life of the ordinary Indians.
It always amazes me to see the neo royalty in all its crassness being eulogised by the masses - the mayawatis and I daresay even the ambanis of India are media monitored for the vicarious voyeuristic pleasures of the people. Perhaps we are a nation of masochists - the crass, distasteful display of riches plundered from the common people fuel our masochistic orgasms.
