You don't have to put your bank details in at first, just your credit card details. It's only if you want to be 'verified' that you have to give them that sort of information. Only thing is whilst you're unverified you have a cap on the amount you can send and receive via Paypal - £500 (sorry I don't know what the U.S. limit is *G*) I've been using Paypal for a couple of years with absolutely no bother at all, I'm still unverified and only really use it for eBay purchases. It's especially good for that 'cause you're pretty much fraud protected. You're still using your credit card - the money is still aded to your bill - but you have a wee bit added protection because the vendor doesn't get your actual card details. Hope that helps a bit.
i get cuts and bruises all of the time and it's just like, 'huh, how'd i do that?' I am right there with the clutziness apparently! lol
I think that paypal can be set up different ways. if you're using a credit card, you dont have to enter your checking account.
Then there's a 'certified' type account for purchasing bigger objects where they require the bank information. My husband and i just used a credit card to purchase things on ebay but when we bought a bedroom set they required us to get a certified account and put our bank info in there.
