It's absolutely appalling how long I've been stuck in bed. Honestly, I'm ready to tear my hair out I'm so bored. I've been sick, in case anyone cares to know. Deathly ill, in fact. I don't know how I survived, I really don't. But I'm on the road to recovery as we speak and I felt the need to share my amazing story with all of you.
Actually, not

Why don't you tell them whole story, you wanker. You know you want to. Tell them how Potter was a git and made you skip the country. Tell them how I blame you for it all because I'm that much of a cruel bastard. Tell them how I treated you worse than shit and tell them...
Forget it. I'm sure I'd fall into the complete and utter waste of time category anyhow.

You know, I really, really, REALLY hate you right now and you have no idea how much I wish I could tell you. But no, you went and ran away from me like a coward and I haven't seen hide nor hair of you since. I could've DIED and you would've just left me to rot.
I HATE YOU HARRY FUCKING POTTER!

Kidding, of course. Believe me, I know intimately how dull it is being stuck in bed. Anything I can do or get for you?
Oh, but hey, next round of potions coming up in about half an hour. How's that for excitement?

Just the glimmering jewel that is your presence. That's all I really require.
Bully for me. I'm absolutely gagging from the exitement, I'll have you know.

I'll be happy to keep you company for a bit, but... 'glimmering jewel'? Are you going delirious on us again?
Be up shortly. With potions, sad to say.

Well, I suppose it can't be helped. And I adore you anyway, potions or none.

So bored, yet couldn't be arsed to be concerned over me. Glad to be reminded where I stand.
I will be leaving tomorrow early in the morning, and be gone ten days. Connors and Lupin have the directions about your potions. It is a potions conference in Romania, and I'm presenting one of the workshops. I'll not have my journal so you will not be able to contact me. I'll be home on the tenth. You know, of course, you are welcome to stay as long as you like - or go whenever you wish.
You've been so ill, I don't know if you've heard the news? Minerva has asked me to come back to the school as Potions Master and Head of Slytherin. Lupin is taking the Defence job and Gryffindor Head.
Do attempt to stay out of trouble whilst I'm gone.

One does not go into 'remission' with Chicken Pox, Draco. It is a disease of children - one which Muggle children endure with a great deal of stoicism and usually considerable enjoyment due to being able to have an excuse to get out of school for ten days. Of course, you are a Malfoy, so we all expect you to milk it for all it's worth. You aren't really questioning my skill at potions, are you? I'll not let a ridiculous Muggle virus scar you.
I, however, am perfectly fine. In fact, ten days away from tending needy dragons and ever-famished werewolves will be quite like a vacation. You will have to cope without your not-so-humble servant for a few days. I dare say your womenfolk will enjoy the reprieve from my presence.
Of course I will.
Thank you.
If you did, 'always', I'd not have had to risk imprisonment to portkey, illegally, to France to bring your bedraggled arse home again. Stay out of trouble and I'll buy you a belated birthday present when I return. I'll even take you shopping to ( ... )
