I don't think capitalism is great because you can lend people a hand. I think we should all be contributing to a community, who can all help those who need it. In fact, I'd say it sucks, since it means preppy wankery private school kids with "1997 Spelling Competition" sewn onto their school blazers. Capitalism = Inequality. All kids should have the same opportunities in schools - the only distinction we should make is whether they're smart (selective schools) or not (normal schools). Hell, the Kings School has two shooting ranges, a church, a chapel, a cricket field, a football field, an olympic size swimming pool, several gymnasiums, several concert halls, air conditioning and a whole heap of other stuff. My school had dirt, nails sticking out of the floor in the gym/hall, 40 degree days, and no front gate ( ... )

andrew shmandrew,

face it, no-one wants to contribute to this 'community' of strangers. that's why there are bad things that happen to you when you don't pay your taxes. no-one trusts all these supposed 'needy', after all, greedy people inherently "need" more than we think they should. and that you westies never achieve the level of skill required to be able to sew stuff into the pockets of blazers (whose cost in dollars probably exceeds the mean number of school days attended per student per year) is unfortunate, HOWEVER, *gasps for air* you can't just go blaming the social elite for everything!
yes there is much inequality in the world, but in any fair system there will be inequality.
i agree with the only distinction we should make is whether they're smart
, cos discriminating students according to academic performance is a real arse ( ... )

if we try to get rid of class inequality, what will people have to work for - to be only as well off as everyone else?

face it, you just resent that someone can have parents that actually CARE aout their child's education enough to invest more than $100 a year on (50% of which is rebated by the goverment ;) ) .. i can think of a polish word "zawzięty" .. go lookk it up cos i can't be bothered! :P

i think everyone should be able to make the best of the resources available to them, whether those resources are money, smarts, charisma, whatever...

i hate when that happens.. the worst is on forums where you go to great lengths to articulate your post with smilies etc. then you get an error notice and your entire post is deleted. bloody wankers.
anyway, why are you so busy all the time? setting up that internet porn site must be more work than you bargained for..

by the way, don't forget to make me a bob calvert avatar.. even if it is like, one poopy pic or something.. oh and i found out exactly what has to be done if rory is still game for setting up the phone lines: the telephone cable is split up into lotsa leetle cabley things and they have to be somehow turned into them squarish phone plug thingies (i heard there's some sort of tool to do that) and then they have to be plugged into a patch panel which is connected to an old telecom commander box, which has to be programmed. fun fun fun!

You'd have more luck getting cordless phones and wireless internet, dear.
