One wonders what, in fact, they were actually trying to impart by those ill-chosen words...

Although, the fact that the US has turned itself into a giant Road Runner episode means that "dropping bombs on themselves" could turn out to be rather entertaining to watch.

Also, as a close friend of conspiricy theorists, and an avid fan of "Loose Change", I have to point out that "dropping bombs on themselves" may well turn out to have been what they did anyhow!
