A Medcenter on Coruscant, Sunday

Jul 24, 2016 11:02

It had taken five days for Farani to recover enough that she'd been allowed out of the kolto tank. The center they were at was military-funded; Atton had to give his clearing several times as they helped Farani walk out of there. Didn't matter. Sure, he'd started this trip fully planning to throw himself into all kinds of scummy poodoo to make ( Read more... )

It was a couple of hours before Sparkle could settle on something to send back, having put his phone down to mull over a reply once he'd gotten Atton's message. He'd been at work, anyway, so it wasn't like it was difficult to distract himself with things that needed to be done, especially since he'd been absent for so long.

Finally, he managed to send his return text, something far too simple for his tastes, but he wasn't sure what the hell else to say, these days.

Good. Keep it that way, okay?

He sent it before he could talk himself into try to revise it again. It was better than nothing, anyway.

I'm fine, Sparks. Doing nothing dangerous you wouldn't do.

Which was only a reassurance in the sense that Atton's brand of dangerous was exponentially greater than Sparkle's.

It helped a bit. After all, Sparkle could mostly handle the trouble he got himself into on his own, and Atton could definitely handle THAT much.

So burning buildings down and flirting with hot people who are armed and dangerous?

Definitely no on the former, and only a little bit of the latter.

That girl at the bar last week probably counted. And that other one. ... and Constantine. There was no way a guy that good at conning people couldn't be considered armed and dangerous.

Right now I'm just hanging around medcenters. Not for me, by the way.

Because Atton could see Sparkle jumping to that conclusion in .5 seconds.
