Your entry should focus in some way on a pet peeve that a character would have. The definition of Pet Peeve (from
Wikipedia): is a minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly annoying to her or him, to a greater degree than others may find it.

"Tapping your damn pen against the coffee table."

It was late, Mike had passed tired hours ago, and was now circling sheer exhaustion. Harvey refused to let him leave the office until he found the loophole, so the only thing that seemed to keep him awake was tapping his pen against something. He didn't do it on purpose, and really wasn't even aware he was doing it until Harvey had pointed it out.
He tried to focus on making his hand not tap anything, but eventually started doing it again when his focus was lost in a blur of tiny print while trying hard to find something that could send him home to his bed.
"Damn it, I thought I told you to stop doing that? It's obnoxious."
"I'm sorry! I'm not trying it. It's just something I always do when I'm tired."

Rachel's head lifts slightly from her work at the sound and her pen stills.
Ah-Ahem
Her eyes search out the source and land on the man sitting at the table across from her, his eyes focused on the book on the table in front of him. He makes a note on the legal pad to his right and scratches his eyebrow, and Rachel lowers her head and focuses back on her work.
Ahem
Rachel closes her eyes, grips her pen tightly, and takes a deep, slow breath.
Ahem
She squeezes her eyes shut and counts back from ten, breathing deeply after each number.
10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...
I do not want to kill Harold. I do not want to kill Harold.
The library is quiet, except for the flipping of pages and the scratching of pens, and Rachel breathes in deeply and gets back to work.
AhemShe drops her pen, yanks off her right shoe, and leans over the table, holding it stiletto heel first in front of Harold's startled face ( ... )
