Chapter 14: Nice Shirley, Tattoos and Slutbeads
“Dude, don’t act like you’re sleeping. You just buzzed me up.”
Yoochun didn’t move.
“Dude.”
Still not moving.
Jaejoong climbed onto the bed and pinched him as hard as he could. Yoochun screamed like a girl and smacked Jaejoong’s hand away. “You need to fucking clip those nails,” he growled before landing a smack on Jaejoongs forehead.
“Ah, that hurt. Taegoon likes my long nails. They turn him on or something,” Jaejoong said, rubbing his forehead.
“To early to talk about new boyfriends,” Yoochun muttered and burried himself under the covers again.
“It’s three thirty. The day is almost over-”
“I don’t mean clockwise. I mean heartwise. I don’t want to hear it. Stupid Taegoon, stupid you, stupid you breaking up with stupid Yunho, who just left us behind to become a stupid model. God, you’re all so stupid.”
“You forgot someone,” Jaejoong said and entangled his fingers with the hair that was still visible from under the covers. “Stupid Junsu for not wanting to be your boyfriend.”
“…yeah.”
“How long has it been since we’ve gotten really drunk and did something really stupid?” Jaejoong asked, tugging at Yoochun’s hair lightly.
“I don’t know how long it’s been for me, but prom night definetly counts for you,”Yoochun chuckled. “What do you want to do?”
Shirley froze. Her bed dipped. Her fucking bed dipped. Jaejoong used to crawl into her bed when he just moved in, but she knew for a fact that he wasn’t home.
She took a deep breath and said: “Who ever you are, I have a gun.”
“What?” Junsu squeaked from behind her and she sighed.
“What are you doing here?” She asked, turning around to see Junsu curled up on top of her covers. “Get out of my bed. It’s almost three in the morning.”
“No. Every one is out and I don’t want to sleep alone,” he mumbled and grabbed Shirley’s arm.
“Did that break damage your brain? Stop touching me!” She hissed and pulled her arm away. She turned on the lamp on her nightstand and glared at him. His eyes were puffy and his nose was red.
“Stop looking at me like that.”
“Like what?” He sniffed.
“Oh, for god’s sake. Just don’t touch me. Hug onto this if you want to.” She pulled out Jaejoong’s big plush Bambi he left under her bed and handed it to him.
“Hey, you have the same Bambi as Yunho,” Junsu said and hugged it against his chest.
“It’s not mine. It’s Jennifers,” Shirley said and turned off the light again.
“Jaejoong doesn’t have a doll like this.”
“Stop talking. Go to sleep.”
“You’re nice, you know that?” Junsu said softly.
Shirley didn’t answer.
Waking up and finding a tattoo of god knows what on your calve without knowing how it got there, is not a nice way of waking up.
“Is it a bug?” Jaejoong asked, squinting his eyes. “Or leaves?”
“They look like feathers…” Yoochun murmured and touched the slightly red spot around the tattoo. “It’s not entirely ugly…at least it’s not something big. I can still hide this from my mom.”
“You’d be so screwed if it was something big,” Jaejoong laughed and got up from Yoochun’s bed. “I’m going to take a shower first.”
When he turned his back on Yoochun, Yoochun burst out laughing. “You are so fucked,” he laughed. “O my god, you are so fucked!”
“What?” Jaejoong frowned. “What are you talking about. Yoochun got up from his bed and pulled open his closet, which had a large mirror hanging inside.
“Turn around,” he said. Jaejoong did as he was told and almost broke his neck trying to see his back in the mirror. His eyes widened when he saw two symmetrical patterns drawn on his shoulderblades and the word ‘soul’ written in between. “What the fuck is that?!” he shrieked. He licked his hand and frantically tried to rub it off. Yoochun laughed.
“This is completely your fault, just to be clear,” he said. “I’m going to inspect the rest of my body for more unwanted art.” He left Jaejoong standing in front of the mirror, still staring at his own reflection and when he came back from the bathroom, freshly showered and all, Jaejoong was still standing there, only now he had a small hand-mirror to help him get a better look.
“I’m clear,” Yoochun announced.
“Doesn’t it look kind of cool?” Jaejoong asked.
“It’s not hideous. Shirley is going to stab you, but it’s not hideous.”
Jaejoong paled at the mention of Shirley. “I’m never taking my shirt off again…”
“Are yous sure? Not even when Taegoon asks you to?” Yoochun teased as he got dressed. “I can’t believe I don’t have a hangover.”
“That’s because it’s almost six o’clock in the evening,” Jaejoong sighed. “We slept all day.”
“Must have been one hell of a night.”
When Jaejoong finally went to take his shower, Yoochun looked around his appartment for any signs of the other night. All he found were a pile of bead necklaces lying under the clothes they had worn the night before. He couldn’t recognize them at all, so he waited for Jaejoong to come back and asked if he knew what they were.
“Those look like the beads they give away to girls who lift up their tops to show their boobs at a club I used to go to. I haven’t been there in ages. Where did you get those?”
Yoochun just stared at the beads and when Jaejoong realized what this meant, he gasped.
“If we only lifted up our tops, it’s not that bad,” Yoochun quickly said.
“No, you don’t get it. It’s hard to get those beads. They usually make girls jump up and down to get them. We earned them, Yoochun. We earned the slutbeads! Heechul is going to be so jealous!”
“You sound awfully proud,”Yoochun said dryly and dropped them on the floor. “I swear, if I find videos of me flashing my penis on Youtube, I will never talk to you again.”
“At least we don’t have any butt-hurt,” Jaejoong muttered, before turning to Yoochun’s closet and picking out something to wear. “Are you coming home with me?”
It was the first time since he had woken up he thought about Junsu. “No.”
“Come on, you have to eat. Have diner with us and then you can leave again,” Jaejoong said, walking over to him after he pulled on a shirt.
“I’ll just order something, or go out. I’m not going over there,” Yoochun said firmly.
“Okay, well, I’m sure we had fun last night,” Jaejoong said. “The amount of beads and the tattoos prove it.”
And he was right. He actually didn’t feel as depressed as he had felt the night before. He still wasn’t completely over what he counted as a horrible rejection, but at least he felt like he could live. At least for a while.
