Chapter 18: A new start
Junsu woke up at 7:30 and shook Yoochun awake.
"Get up, you have work."
"I only need ten minutes to get ready and 30 seconds to get downstairs," Yoochun grumbled and pulled the blankets over his head.
"Come on," Junsu whined and pulled on the blankets. "Get up and make me breakfast."
"Get out of my house. Now."
"You can't talk to me like that anymore. I'm your boyfriend now."
Yoochun kicked away the blankets and glared at him. "A good boyfriend lets his boyfriend sleep," he hissed.
"A good boyfriend prepares his boyfriend breakfast."
"So we both suck at being boyfriends. What a surprise."
Junsu looked down at him, grinning like an idiot. "I'm going to take a shower. I expect to find food when I come back," he said, before walking of to the bathroom.
"I hope you drown!" Yoochun called after him, but got out of bed and into the kitchen anyway. He took out a carton of milk out of the fridge and a box of cereal out of the cubboard and put them down on the counter before crawling back into bed. He tried to go back to sleep, but Junsu started singing and it sounded like he was screaming right into Yoochun ear. He groaned, stood up again and barged into the bathroom. Junsu stopped singing and burst out laughing when Yoochun glared at him.
"If you're trying to get on my nerves, it's working. I will kick you out naked!"
Junsu didn't stop laughing, but at least he stopped singing. "Hey, where are you going?" he asked when Yoochun turned around and headed for the door. "Don't you want to join your new boyfriend in the shower?"
"You should join me in bed," he said before closing the door behind him. He heared more laughing and wondered why the hell Junsu was in such a good mood. Oh, hell. He knew the reason. It was the same reason he hadn't gone back to bed again and instead put on boxers, washed the sleep out of his eyes at the sink and milk back where they belonged. He baked eggs and made coffee.
"I guess I'm the only bad boyfriend here," Junsu grinned when he came out of the shower entirely naked.
"Nothing bad about that," Yoochun smiled and looked Junsu up and down. "Sit down and eat. After you put something on," he added when it looked like Junsu was about to sit down on his new furniture naked.
Junsu rolled his eyes before walking up to Yoochun's closet and taking out a pair of random boxers.
"I'm wearing my boyfriends underwear," he grinned and sat down. "What time do you get off work?"
"Twelve. And my classes start at one. Why?"
Junsu shrugged and started on his eggs. Yoochun watched him stuff his face, get egg on his cheek, on his chest and on the table.
"You disgust me," he sighed and started eating himself.
"Don't lie. You'd do me even if I was covered in egg," Junsu said, his mouth full.
After eating Yoochun made Junsu do the dishes and took a shower himself. When he came back Junsu was already dressed in his own jeans and one of Yoochun's old sweatshirts.
"When are you going to talk to Yunho?" Junsu asked when Yoochun sat down next to him on the edge of the bed and started drying his hair with a towel.
"After classes I guess. I get out at 5. I'll call him later and ask him to come over. He hasn't even seen my apartment yet," Yoochun said.
"Aren't you scared he'll kick your ass and burn your house down?" Junsu chuckled. "But I'll be here, so I can protect you from the big scary model."
"So you're not going home after school?" Yoochun asked. "You can't avoid Jaejoong forever, you know? All your clothes and your schoolbooks are there. You live there."
"I'll go there tonight and I'll bring dinner back for us, how's that?" Junsu suggested. "But I'm not sleeping there."
“I wouldn’t let you even if you anted to,” Yoochun said and took a fistfull of Junsu’s sweatshirt. He pulled him closer and they smiled into their first kiss of that morning.
Junsu called Changmin to ask if Jaejoong would be home that night, because no matter what Yoochun said, he really didn’t want to see him.
“So what now?” Changmin asked, watching Junsu pack a bag. “You’re officially moving out?”
“No, I’m just staying at Yoochun’s for a couple of days. You know...until I stop wanting to kill you.”
“Me?”
“Yeah, you. We’re blaming you for everything that went wrong.”
Changmin laughed and left the room. Junsu finished packing and followed him out.
Shirley shoved a bag into his hands
“What’s this?” he asked.
“Changmin said you came to get food. That’s food.”
“Can I get a hug too?”
Shirley rolled her eyes and walked away.
“I’m leaving!” he called. Changmin made a sound and Junsu left.
“What do you mean you knew? Who told you?” Yoochun was confused. Shocked, even.
“Heechul told me. Yoochun, chill out. It’s okay. You were drunk and stupid crap happened. I keep telling you guys not to go overboard with alcohol, but does anyone listen to me?” Yunho was balancing on the two back legs of his chair and looked around Yoochun’s apartment.
“It doesn’t bother you at all that I kissed your ex-boyfriend?”
“Ex. I’d stab you if he was still my boyfriend, but he’s not,” Yunho shrugged. “You should be having this conversation with Taegoon.”
It was the first time Taegoon even crossed his mind. Taegoon was Jaejoong’s new boyfriend. It was weird that neither he or Jaejoong had thought of him.
“You forgot about Taegoon,”Yunho stated. “But it’s okay. Taegoon isn’t your friend. He’s Jaejoong’s problem.”
“Jaejoong doesn’t know you know, you know?”
“...What?”
“Jaejoong doesn’t know you know this. He said that Heechul told him he hadn’t told anyone,” Yoochun explained, getting over the Taegoon thing.
“He really thought Heechul wasn’t going to tell me?” Yunho chuckled. “He’s not going to tell anyone else, but why wouldn’t he tell me?”
“I don’t know, maybe because he’s weird and totally in love with you?”
“Oh well, that’s a good reason.”
“Really?”
“No. Yoochun, what are you talking about?” Yunho lowered his chair and let it stand on all four legs. “
“I just think it’s weird that you’re not mad. Any normal person would be jealous adn you’re all like ‘Chill out, it’s okay.’” Yoochun crossed his arms.
“So you’re mad I’m not mad at you?”
“I’m mad because this means you’re not feeling anything for Jaejoong anymore.”
Yunho nodded thoughtfully and asked: “Did Jaejoong ever say he wanted to get back together?”
“No,but-“
“He’s the one who broke up with me, he’s the one who cheated on me and then broke up with me. He doesn’t want me, so why should I keep holding on?”
“You say it as if it’s the most simple thing in the world. Me and Junsu-“
“-were never together officially. He never said h didn’t want you-“
“But I told him that once. He didn’t just give up or-“
“So you’re thinking I’m just giving up? Yoochun, what was I supposed to do? I really, really liked him, okay? But he’s not the only person in my life. I tried to keep him happy as much as I could, but I couldn’t just stop having my best friend around. And it isn’t because it was Heechul, I would have done the same thing if he asked me to stop seeing you, Junsu, Donghae. Any of my friends.”
“But still-“
“I know this is weird for you guys since you are his friends as well as mine. Maybe one day me and him can be friends again. I’m up for it if he is. And if he doesn’t go all attempted murder on Bambi again.”
“Can I say something now?”
“You have four minutes before I have to go and pick up Heechul from his parents’,” Yunho smiled.
“Are you going to go on dates now?” Yoochun asked. “With people like...oh, I don’t know... Kim Heechul, who seems to be mentioned in every other sentence?”
“He’s mentioned so much because lately I’ve been spending day an night with him. And no, I’m not dating him. And no, I’m not dating anyone. And yes, my life from now on will be school and work and nothing else.”
“Your life sounds like my lfie, only I have a boyfriend.”
“And you work in a bookstore and I’m a model,” Yunho grinned and stood up. “I should really be going. The princess doesn’t like to wait.”
Just seconds after Yunho left the doorbell rang adn Yoochun buzzed up who couldn’t be anyone but Junsu.
“I met Yunho outside. He seemed happy. Could have been because he killed you or...” Junsu said and dropped his bag in the small hallway.
“Or he already knew and didn’t care,” Yoochun sighed and took the bag of food from Junsu’s hands.
“Why is that a bad thing?” Junsu ask
“It’s not. It’s complicated. I have issues.”
“Drama queen.”
