Junsu sat on the edge of Yoochun's bed and watched him get dressed, taking a sip of his hot coffee now and then.
“What are you going to do today?” he asked.
“Visit my mom and then it depends what time I get out of there,” Yoochun answered, looking at himself in the full length mirror inside his closet. “What time do you have practise?”
“From twelve to three. Probably going to run late again too. I really don't feel like going today.”
Yoochun didn't say anything, knowing there really wasn't much he could say. Junsu knew how he thought about the fact that 90% of his time was put into soccer practise. Junsu knew Yoochun would rather see him going to college next year instead of debuting in Seoul's A1 team in two years.
“I'll try and come over tonight, okay? I don't know if my parents will buy it, but I'll try. Yunho will back me up and if he can't there's Eunhyuk or-”
“Don't stress yourself out. Come if you're able too. Don't get yourself into trouble.” Yoochun glanced at the clock. “You have exactly one hour to get dressed, get to you house, get your soccer stuff and get to the practise field. I say you start now.”
“Did you know that your favourite student is in a shit load of trouble?”
It was Morning and Yoochun was barely awake to register Changmin's words.
“What?”
“The report cards are getting handed out today and Kim Junsu is in a shit load of trouble. It surprises me, because he does good in English. Weak at grammer, pronunciation and vocabulary but great at literature and since that's where most points are to be made-”
“Your point, Changmin?” Yoochun said, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, before prodding his head up on his fist, looking at Changmin who was hovering over his desk.
“Here. Why don't you hand to over to him? You're his unofficial home room teacher anyway.” He looked through the stack of report cards he was holding and took out one, before laying down on Yoochun's desk. “Don't kill the kid. I'll send him over.”
Changmin left, leaving Yoochun behind to look at Junsu's report card. Red numbers. Red numbers were bad. All of it was red, except for English and Gym. Or course.
A knock on the door made him look up. Junsu walked in looking worried. “Sonsaengnim Shim sent me over. What's wrong? You look mad-”
“Sit down.”
Junsu sat down at one of the empty desk in the front of the class room and Yoochun stood up from his own desk. “What the hell is this?” he snapped, slamming the report card on Junsu's table. Junsu looked the report card over, face not showing any sign of anything.
“It doesn't matter, I'm not going to college anyway,” Junsu shrugged.
Yoochun had to close his eyes for a second to calm himself down. “There are rules, Junsu. Rules that say you're not to be in any activities next to school if your average is lower than 65. Your average is 57.”
“Oh, come on! It's not that bad-”
“You can't graduate with a 57, Junsu. Which means you will be in highschool for another year. Is that what you want? Be stuck at these desks for another year?”
“Yoochun, it doesn't matter! I'm not going to college so who the hell cares about a 65 average?” Junsu said and stood up. “I sure as hell don't. Neither do my parents.”
“I don't believe that. I don't believe you're parents would be okay with this,” Yoochun shook his head. “If I show this to the board you'll have to cut down on soccer.”
Junsu stared at him, disbelieve showing all over his face. “You can't do that.”
“I can. I know you can do better than this-”
“But I can't do better even if I tried,” Junsu shook his head. “Not everyone is as smart as you, Yoochun. We can't all get scholarships and graduate college with ease. We can't all be talented and-”
“But you are! Junsu, you're smart. You're talented. You're not just soccer. Why are you giving all of yourself to a game? Why can't you concentrate on other stuff? Like your music. You're music is great-”
“Because that game is the only thing I'm good at,” Junsu said. “It's what's going to help me make a living! And honestly, I think it's way better than going through 4 years of college and ending up teaching kids how to sit on your cock.”
Yoochun was stunned by Junsu's last words and watched him leave the classroom, slamming the door shut behind him.
Three years. It had been three years since they met, one since they actually started a relationship. Yoochun remembered the angry kid that was beating the crap out of what later appeared to be his best friend, Hyukjae. Yoochun took Junsu into a classroom and demanded and explanation. Junsu just glared at the floor, blood dripping from his lip. He was smaller then. Much smaller, thinner too.
“He called Heechul a fag,”
Heechul, the openly gay senior who caught everyones attention whenever he was around. It wasn't unusual for people to bash him, others of course always huddled around him, wanting to be his friend. Yoochun found it funny. He had had Heechul in his class and the kid never stopped flirting.
“And why did that make you want to kill your friend?”
“I can't tell you that. You're not even my teacher, why should I trust you?”
“Then don't. Detention for a month, starting this afternoon,”
“Wait...you're gay too, right?”
“I am.”
“Wouldn't you want to kill your best friend if you found out he...hated gay people?”
Yoochun had caught the meaning behind those words and was struck silent for a minute. It was only his second year teaching and there were already kids, coming out to him, confiding in him? Honestly, Yoochun felt proud.
“You're name is Junsu, right?”
Since that day, Junsu confided in Yoochun more and more. Trouble with his parents, with his friends, with his coach, he'd find the teacher and get his worries off his chest. Until Junsu started looking him up without reason, just wanting to see him, needing to see him, until Yoochun started opening up to him too.
Yoochun picked up the rapport card Junsu had left behind and looked it over again. Sighing he put it in his bag.
edited. there was a whole line missing and it was a pretty important one DX
