Epilogue
Junsu was a nervous wreck and regretted agreeing to this in the first place. He wouldn’t know how to act in front of Shim Changmin and Kim Jaejoong as Yoochun’s boyfriend! Why did Yoochun’s friends have to be his ex-teachers? Wasn’t it enough that he had to live with the knowledge of it? Now he had to get to know them too?
He was trying to calm his nerves as he drove towards Yoochun’s apartment when his phone rang. He put it on speaker and heard Yunho’s voice cracking through.
“Junsu?”
“I’m driving. I have you on speaker.”
“Are you alone?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Are you on your way to the most awkward diner in your life?” Yunho chuckled.
“And thanks. You’re a great friend. Yes, I’m almost there.”
“I just wanted to tell you that I talked to Hyuk and he calmed down a lot since you told him.”
“Really? What did he say?”
“He was mainly mad because he was the last to know even though you’re his best friend and all, but he’s ready to talk if you are.”
“Did you tell him anything about Yoochun?”
“That’s not my place, Kim.”
“Ok, thanks. I’ll call you when it’s over.”
“Say hi to Jaejoong for me.”
Junsu heard the dial tone before he got to ask why the hell he and Jaejoong were on a first name basis. But he quickly got distracted when Yoochun’s building came closer and closer and he finally had to park in front of it. He knew for a fact that they didn’t like him. He had never been their favourite student. He hoped their memory of him had gotten foggy and that he hadn’t put a big enough of a -bad- impression on them to remember him. He hoped to start with a new slate.
He went up the elevator to Yoochun’s floor. Knocked, even though he had a key, and waited.
Yoochun answered the door with a smile, not 10 seconds later and ushered him in.
“They’re waiting for you,” he said softly as he took Junsu’s coat.
“Did you tell them it was me?”
“No, of course not. Come on. Let’s just get it over with.” He took Junsu by his hand and pulled him into the living room.
“Guys.”
Changmin and Jaejoong stopped talking to each other and looked up.
“Well, I’ll be damned,” Jaejoong said, eyes wide.
“I’d be more surprised if it wasn’t him,” Changmin shrugged.
“You knew?” Jaejoong asked, turning back to him. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because he hadn’t told us anything yet. It was just a hunch, that’s all.”
“Well, you could have told me about your little hunch.”
“And then what?”
“Guys,” Yoochun interrupted. “There’s a student here.”
“A Seoul U student, if I remember correctly,” Changmin nodded. “Journalism, wasn’t it?”
Junsu nodded, feeling his cheeks heat up. He wanted to hide behind Yoochun to get away from those scrutinizing eyes.
“He’s a great writer,” Yoochun said and pulled him further into the room. Junsu had never felt so uncomfortable in Yoochun’s apartment, their apartment. They had practically been living together since Junsu had started college since the university was so close and his room mate - Yunho - was barely ever in their dorm himself.
“Weren't you supposed to be a major soccer player by now?” Jaejoong asked and for Junsu felt like he had just been slapped in the face. It was still a sensitive issue for him and Yoochun knew that.
“He chose for college instead,” Yoochun said. And Junsu couldn't help but think that he didn't really have a choice in the end.
They sat down across from Changmin and Jaejoong and waited for more questions.
“So you guys have been together for…”
“2 years,” Yoochun answered.
“That’s…intense,” Jaejoong said. “I can’t believe you’ve been hiding this from us for two years, Yoochunnie.”
“I wouldn’t have done it if there was any other way, Jaejoong, you know that.”
“So that is the reason you kept rejecting me when I started working at the school! I actually felt really insecure at the time, Yoochunnie. You could have at least told me you had someone else.”
“So, Junsu,” Changmin redirected the conversation and Junsu didn’t like it, “do your parents know about this?”
“Yeah. They were unexpectedly supportive,” Junsu nodded.
“What about your mother, Yoochun?”
“We visit her every Sunday. She loves him more than she loves me.”
“She always had a thing for cute things,” Jaejoong smiled and Junsu thought he had heard wrong. Had Kim Sonsaengnim just complimented him?
“Before I forget,” Junsu said. “Yunho says hi.”
The smile on Jaejoong’s face turned upside down. “When did you talk to him?”
“Just now, on the phone. But that was the only thing he said,” Junsu quickly added. “He hung up before I could ask.”
“He hasn’t called me in days,” Jaejoong gritted between his teeth, “and now he says hi?”
“Well…he’s really busy. He just started his internship at-“
“Wait. Is this Jung Yunho we’re talking about?” Yoochun interrupted.
Changmin sighed. “Figures.”
“No, it’s not like that,” Jaejoong quickly said. “We just bumped into each other about two months ago. And we’re not dating or anything. Just…texting.”
“You mean sexting,” Changmin corrected and Junsu couldn’t help but laugh. Who knew Shim Sonsaengnim had a sense of humour?
“No, that’s not what I mean!”
“Yes it is. I’ve read your ‘texts’. Very disturbing.”
“You went through my phone? You can’t do that!”
Yoochun bumped Junsu’s shoulder. “They never stop,” he said.
“They’re nicer than I remember,” Junsu admitted.
“How are things with your friend?”
“I don’t really know yet, but I had to tell him some day right? Yunho said he’s ready to talk and when we do I think I’m going to tell him about us.”
Yoochun smiled and nodded. “Are you hungry?”
And that little question caught the two others’ attention. “We’re starving,” Jaejoong said. “What did you order?”
“Hitsumabushi. And it cost me a fortune, so you better enjoy it and lick your plate off when you’re done.”
It was passed midnight when Jaejoong and Changmin finally took their leave.
“So?” Yoochun asked, flopping down onto the couch and turning to look at him.
“So. I guess its out.”
“I guess it is. Want to go for ice cream tomorrow?”
Junsu grinned and leaned in for a kiss “And the day after that?”
“And after that…” they kissed softly at first, but it quickly turned into a deep and sensual sign of what was to come.
“Everything would be perfect if it wasn’t for one thing though,” Junsu breathed between their kisses.
“Hm?”
“I think you should move to an apartment with thicker walls. I’m sick of hearing your neighbour thumps on the wall when we’re at it.”
“It only started when I stopped covering your mouth.” Yoochun shrugged. “And you've gotten a lot louder since we started using the whip. I bet my neighbour is sick of hearing us at it,”
“That can’t be true. He’s lucky to have neighbours this hot having hot sex right next door to him. I know people who’d kill to be him. I bet he jerks off like a madman-“
“An apartment with thicker walls it is then. “
