Help With LJ Cut

I'm still a bit noobish when it comes to LJ, since I only joined around two months ago. Anyway can someone please help me understand the whole LJ cut stuff? I tried doing it, but I just made myself even more confused...So if anyone can help me, please comment here.

well.. i had trouble too until neorouge helped me out.
here's something that she showed me:

For the LJ cut thing, do you write in html? Why does everyone write in html? If you use the Rich Text, there are buttons that all you have to do is press (Highlite the text you want under the LJ cut and press That button)

or You can do the htmlwhich is < LJ-CUT="THE TEXT YOU WANT TO SHOW IN THE CUT" > then type your text here and end it with < /LJ-CUT >

Don't make the html in caps though, and there are no spaces between the text and (< and >) :) I hope that helps some how! ^_^

hey^^I´m not really sure about it too but 2 days ago I´ve found it out CX!
go to the rick text^^there are some buttons and one of then is the "LJ Cut" now mark the text you wanna insert in the lj cut ^^if you´ve marked then there will come a little window out and there they will ask you to write a little text or some words (What you want)^^you could write "read here" or something...what you want..^^after that it´s done^^but only mark your storie+summary (and other things^^) the thing that you won´t mark will be shown in you journal^^

the poeples who visit your site will see a link were they can click o the story^^
