Chapter 2
After Kyuhyun walked away, Sungmin walked lifelessly back home. For 4 days he locked himself in his room, crying his heart out. He blamed himself for confessing, for destroying their beautiful friendship, and for making Kyuhyun hates him. “Why am I so stupid?” he sobbed, “I was his best friend… I’m always by his side. Why am I so greedy as to want more?” Sungmin started crying even more.
“Sungmin-ah. Umma has good news for you. Your elder brother, Lee Sungjin is coming home in a couple of days.”
Mrs. Lee tried to help her son out of his zombie-like state.
Lee Sungjin is the eldest son in the Lee family. He and Sungmin were inseparable. However, when the family told Sungmin that Sungjin would be traveling to Australia to study as a lawyer, he has kicked, grabbed and do whatever he can so his brother won’t leave him but all he got was his father’s scolding and his brother’s retreating figures. On the day of departure, he refused to go to the airport and sent his brother off. He has cried, as much as he does now when he hugged his brother for the last time. 30 minutes before the flight, he came to his senses and rushed out to send his brother off. He didn’t make it. He was 2 minutes off. His brother had walked inside the tunnel leading to the shuttle waiting outside. That was the darkest day of his life. Lucky for him, someone had walked into his life and made all the tears and pains went away. He made sure that no one will hurt him ever again… physically or mentally. But now, that person is the one to hurt him… much more than when Sungjin did 6 years ago. That person was Cho Kyuhyun.
“Ok umma.” He whispered softly.
Dinner time arrived but Sungmin kept quiet and kept eying his food. Sungmin was the last to join and the first to leave. His mother and brother would put food in his bowl but he ignored it and ate plain rice. Once he’s done with half his food, he excused himself and left for his room.
Sensing something was wrong with his brother; Sungjin excused himself and ran after Sungmin. He wanted to have a one-on-one conversation with his troubled brother.
“What’s wrong Min-ah? Relationship problems?” Sungjin asked as he stands beside the door.
“…Sorta.” Sungmin began.
“So… wanna tell me what’s wrong?” Sungjin said as he shut the door and sat himself in front of Sungmin.
“Hyung. I’m gay.” Sungmin said.
“I thought you would be since you love pink so much.” His brother teased as he looked around the room. Pink wallpaper, pink bed, pink closet, pink pillows, and even pink floor.
“And you’re ok with it?” Sungmin asked surprise.
“Why wouldn’t I be? I mean I don’t care what you are. You’re my brother. As long as you’re happy I’m happy.” Sungjin said as he smiled sweetly at his brother.
“… But you don’t think I’m… disgusting?” Sungmin asked in a whisper.
“Why would I think that? Who am I to say who you can love or not? …” Sungjin paused.” But I really would be disgusted if you were to fall in love with me.” He joked and he got a slap from his brother.
“Ewe hyung… I’m not as gay as to think that.” Sungmin shouted.
“Haha you know you love me baby brother.” Sungjin said as he patted Sungmin’s head.
For the longest time they talked and talked. However at the end of the discussion, Sungmin decided to tell his brother about his current health. His brother suggested him coming to Australia with him for a while and study there. Sungmin asked him to not tell their parents the story he told him. He agreed and he told Sungmin to think about his offer. He retreated back into his own room while Sungmin lied in bed, thinking about his decision.
School was the same except Kyuhyun tried every way possible to ignore him. He switched his locker, his seats and rearranged all his schedules to not have the same as Sungmin. Whenever Sungmin approach him, Kyuhyun would grab his girlfriend’s hand and walked away.
When Sungjin announced he would be coming back to Australia in 5 days and had decided to take Sungmin along with him, Sungmin didn’t protest but silently nod. He has no reasons to stay back now… not when Kyuhyun tried every way possible to avoid him.
For the whole week, Sungmin packed his stuff for his trip with his brother. His brother said that he should finish high school in Australia before coming back. They had agreed for Sungmin to stay there for 2 years.
On a Friday, 2 days before he leaves, Sungmin had taken all his courage to come and talk with Kyuhyun for the last time.
“Kyuhyun-sshi… may I talk to you for a while?” Sungmin asked as he stood tall, facing the annoyed Kyuhyun.
“No. Leave me alone fag.” He said and was about to walk away. Ignoring his already broken heart, Sungmin held back his tears as he spoke.
“I’m leaving… Kyu-ah.” Sungmin spoke as he used Kyuhyun’s nickname.
Spoilers: Next chapter will include a rape scene and there will definitely a sequel to this =) I already planned it so I hope the sequel will make many Kyumin to stop being mad at me for separating the cutest pairing in Super Jr. hehe~
