Do you believe in the value of a muse?
I do. It switches on all the lights.
And he’s beautiful.
Kind of perfect yet not and that’s what interests me. I see the inherent beauty of his imperfection, like shattered glass made beautiful in refracted light.
He’s not shattered of course, he’s just got the most wonderful wonky way of smiling, and he smiles so ( Read more... )

"Do you believe in the value of a muse?

No, no quote. I'm curious if it sounds like someone else...

Mmm, is this a re-post then? Or maybe I read it last night when I was half disconnected from my memory.
Anais Nin was a life long diarist who was the muse to many respected writers most famously Henry Miller. She has a beautiful writing style, much of it is erotic but she's a trifle self obsessed. It gets on my tits. Still def worth a read.

This is lovely.
Reminds me of a line from a song:
"he had no traits of any value but his smile"

What song is that?

"stars and the moon"

I'm not sure who sings it or what it's from... just that it's a broadway song that talks about three different men this lady had a chance to marry.

The first part of the song is
"I met a amn without a penny to his name
he had no traits of any value but his smile"

and that's one of the only lines of the song I actually know @_@
