I have recently acquired (thanks to university library “discarded books” booksale):

White Dog, (the book not the movie).
It was a memoir before it was a Sam Fuller masterpiece. In the course of creating this post, I learned that there exists a White Dog Cafe . whoa.

Did you know that there exists an International Journal of Zizek Studies

I had no idea. In fact--as you'd probably expect--I had no idea who he was.

Wikipedia to the rescue! The article on him says, in part:Recently, Žižek wrote text to accompany Bruce Weber photos in a catalogue for Abercrombie & Fitch. Questioned as to the seemliness of a major intellectual writing ad copy, Žižek told the Boston Globe: "If I were asked to choose between doing things like this to earn money and becoming fully employed as an American academic, kissing ass to get a tenured post, I would with pleasure choose writing for such journals!"

i just put white dog in my amazon shopping cart. i swear you wrote another post on it. or maybe i was reading about it somewhere else. can't remember.

for some reason, i just decided that i really want to read it. (and even that it maybe [applicable] somewhere...)
