Merry Ho Ho

Weird Christmas this year. Gary is worked 12 hours yesterday, and is again today & tomorrow. I worked yesterday, so we had a quiet dinner for the 2 of us last night. Both kids decided they were spending Christmas with their significant others families-this is the first time ever, that I have sat in this house alone on Christmas day-and I'm not ( Read more... )

Merry Christmas, Sue. Change is hard, AND inevitable. Doesn't mean we have to like it though. Quiet here at my mom's, too. We're hanging out, waiting for it to be time to go over to my sister's house for turkey (since i didn't get a real turkey for Thanksgiving, I'm looking forward to THAT.) We're a weird bunch; I expect my niece will act out a bit and the rest of us will roll our eyes or ignore her as my sister tries to smooth things over. Enough wine will grease anything, I guess. I'm sure my mother will want to come home relatively early and then Ho Ho Ho it will be over for us for another year.

It's been raining lightly all day so the pretty snow is looking all crappy now. We need a good snowfall to cover up the dirty stuff now.

Send lasagna. That sounds good, too. Guess I'd better go find an "appetizer" to hold me over.

Hang in.

I'll do better than send lasagna-we're planning a trip to Plano in the spring-I don't know how far you are from there, but if you show up, I'll make lasagna:)
Yep, change is hard. I had no idea how much it would bother me to be alone-totally blindsided me! But the kids will be here today, so I'm already feeling better.
Snow here isn't much to look at either this year. It's been way warmer than usual, and there was some rain. But the yard is still white, so that's a good thing.
Have to get cracking-and drum up some Christmas spirit in the next few hours!
