crawling out from under my rock--

--at least for a little bit:) The last few weeks have been a little rough around the edges-as a friend of mine put it-I'm having a pity party! Lately it seems that I'm viewing everything through the glass is half empty thought mode, which is ridiculous and really not my style. If the sun would make an appearance, I think it may help-there has ( Read more... )

I wish you luck,....and send my love...and hope your pain goes away NOW!!!

art? what's that? I've been cleaning out my house- getting rid of old furniture, junk, old papers....lots to the recycle, lots to Goodwill, some to friends in need....I am going to be putting in a spare bed in the *spare bed room*....where my puter *office* is....so now you can come visit and not have to sleep on the sofa-bed (which is queen size and actually pretty comfy!)lol

I seem to need to clear out the junk of nearly 40 years marriage (I'll hang on to DH just a bit longer, I guess - snort!) and feel like I have a little freedom to move in this little house...it must be my almost 60 bd that is getting me ready for the next phase of living...

Hope you get a neuro doc who will treat you and your body with dignity and skill and will get you the relief of pain!!

Well, if yuo're getting a room ready for me, I'll just have to come visit! Now wouldn't that be a hoot?

You have every right and reason for a pity party: no sun and knee surgery! I hope your recovery is speedy.

I think I'm at the same place of the longer I go without doing any art, the harder it is to get back to it. :(

The knee really is getting a little better every day-I just hate the whole process and want it done now.
So if we know that it's hard to get back to making art when we take a break--why on earth do we keep taking a break? Wish I knew the answer to that one.

I used the holidays and everything I had to get done as an excuse. Now I have no excuse.

Me too. I did paint some canvas boards today-nothing fancy, but at least I was slinging some paint around for awhile:)

I think we really MUST be related(at least psychically!)!! Except for the knee surgery, I could have written your post! LOL I've been having that *@#$ kidney stone pain again, but since no stones showed up when I had the CT scan, Doc is disinclined to think I have them!! Never mind the fact that I have ALL the classic symtoms!!! I'm impressed that you went back to work before Christmas! Were you maybe pushing things a little? You be careful of that knee!!! I know about the pain meds and the art, too! I've got two commitments due soon(one THIS WEEK!!!!), and it's been hard for me to find inspiration or get motivated!

On a positive note: The SUN is SHINING here today!!! YAY!!!!

They are still not doing anything for you?? That's just not right!
The doc said it was ok to go back to work and assured me that I couldn't injure the knee by doing so-but did warn me that it was going to hurt. Where I pushed it was by working too many days in a row right away-but retail at Christmas, there's not much choice.
I'm jealous you have sun:)
