Fortunately, she was groggy enough that she doesn't seem to remember a lot of it. But I sure do.

oh my gosh. that is inexcusable. If I heard my mother screaming in agony like that I would be screaming at someone with anger.

I told her yesterday that I wanted to speak to the doctor about this, and she told me "don't bitch about my doctor-he's mine!" I did try to talk to the nurse that night and she copped an attitude-by then they were at least medicating her. But you're right-it was inexcusable!

You poor girl! What a LOOOONG day you had!! They probably had to wait to give pain meds until your mom's anesthetic from the surgery wore off. At least that's what they did with me when I had my gallbladder removed. Sounds like someone goofed tho. They should have given the morphine and given it a little time to kick in before getting her up for her walk!!! I'm sorry she had to experience that, hopefully she's fully medicated now! Don't you get YOURSELF all rundown!

I've always woken up from surgery with a morhphine pump hooked up to me-and that's just the way I like it! Yes, they definitely goofed somewhere. I won't run myself down-promise:)
