2006 goal #1 done!

Jan 15, 2006 17:48

My main goal for the year was to finally make a journal, Teesha Moore style. I've had the paper here for a couple of years-that is sad! I really wanted a place for me to journal/art in just for me for a change. For the past 4 years, I've been in an altered calendar swap, so am in the habit of journaling-but this year I dropped out of the swap so ( Read more... )

Good for you!!! it's great! I'm curious why it's called Teesha's style>>- I learned this same journal and decoration in a class 3 years ago from Albie Smith and another gal at Stampstruck here in Medford. I've only made one though....:(( and perfect, schmerfect - it's YOUR journal!!!!!!

I called it Teesha style because I made it following the directions on her website-I'm sure there's a real name for it, but that would require actually reading all the bookbinding books I've accumulated over the years-LOL!
After I put all those goofy beads on there, I realised just how impractical that really is-looks kind of cool, but they'll probably drive me nuts. Wouldn't be surprised if I cut those off & just add fibers at some point.
The signatures are hanging out the bottom just a bit-and there's a combination of hot & cold pressed paper in it-what the hell, it's for me to play with anyway:)

She got moved to the rehab floor on Friday and will be there for a week. I think she's very afraid right now-of everything-moving wrong, how will she cope etc. She never showed up at the hospital or here to visit at all when I had my hip replaced, so she seems quite surprised at all that it entails. And hers is cemented in, so she can walk on it already! She was much happier on the ortho floor, where she got everything she asked for-the rehab people are making her work.

Very nice. Think of it this way: You were aging that paper. Now, it's vintage. /off spin doctoring

Sally forth and journal.

The book linen was aged, too-the postmark on the roll (which hadn't been opened) was from 2002! Do you think it's maybe time to use stuff up, instead of buying more? This is bad!
