You were accepted to.. what was it, Western Washington? Do they have a musical theater program that you were accepted to?
I have no idea why the UNC department didn't accept you, since as far as I'm concerned you've got a real shot at making a career out of your musical theater skills. But for whatever reason these people didn't think you were what they were looking for.
You can go to Colorado and be a theater major, but what if they don't accept you again next year? Is UNC really a place where you'll be happy? If that in fact does happen, will you be upset that you didn't look at other options that could ideally offer you the same type of program that were closer to home and maybe even less costly?
Even still, rejection is hard, and I admire you for not giving up because of this one little hiccup. Good luck in your decision making process my dear.

Go where you feel comfortable -- that is, by and large, the most important thing. I think your plan sounds absolutely solid -- be stubborn, and fight for what you love. You deserve it.
