She wasn't here anymore.
And he couldn't remember what she looked like.
Standing in the careful shape of her room, it seemed like there was no trace of who or what that girl had ever been. Cleaned out. Carefully wrapped up in the unreality that was Castle Oblivion, neatly pressed out, and washed away. There was nothing left, standing there in the center of it, fingers stark against the while of that chair.
The chair seemed important somehow...
What was it that used to be there? He could recall there being a girl (once) that he had cared (always), but there was just nothing to put it to a name, to a shape. He would grasp the images in his mind, only for them to slip off like water, dribbling down the ground and erasing even the tentative emotions there.
Maybe it was the castle.
Maybe not.
It could just be that paralyzing fear inside himself twisting all those dark thoughts into desire, into truth.
And in the mean time, he picked through the sketches and the bits and pieces of a life that should be familiar. He's seen them so many times...
