I hadn't realized how long I had had this bookmarked, waiting to read this because the pairing for this period absolutely fascinates me, and I have to say: this delivered. Omg did it deliver.

First I love the different between them as people and them as nations following along with the politics. That's something I like to play with in my writings and while I've done it with Soviet Russia I haven't yet really done it with Nazi Germany because I wasn't sure where to even begin, but this was great inspiration.

Second though I love the love that they create despite and in spite of the differences. That's what I love most about them, the guilty Germany and the older France understanding that they've all done awful things, they all deserve a second chance. That ending, that was the perfect culmination of that.

♥ it!

<3 First and foremost, thank you so much! I greatly appreciate that you took the time to comment and it makes my day that you enjoyed the story that much.

*nod* To me the interplay between who they are as people and who they are as nations is fascinating. I've always thought they were there own people regardless of the time period and then that their national politics manifest as a kind of split personality if they are ragingly different from the nation's own personal beliefs, as shown here. XD It is so kind of you to say I inspired you... as a writer, that is such a huge compliment. (Are you interested in making a new friend/a roleplaying partner? I'm always on the look out for those two wonderful things, if you're at all interested.)

<3 Endings are so hard! To wrap everything up and make it believable is difficult for me because I can be a perfectionist, so again, this comment totally made my day. France has always been one of the most understanding nations to me, considering their/his history of bloodshed and the monstrosities ( ... )

New friends? :D Maybe that'll motivate me more to finish cross-posting my stories to LJ, I have too many waiting.

YES! That's why I love Francis and it makes me sad when other people can't see it too.
