Not too bad! I'm having some health issues which are necessitating blood tests and hospital visits. Had a blood test today and she blew a vein so that KILLS currently. I came off my anti-anxiety meds earlier in the year so I'm learning to live with that.
I think LJ is more alive than people think. True there are a lot of people have have left deserted journals and most of the "communities" are dead now. I never was one for the communities myself anyway, I preferred the personal journals. I certainly still have plenty of active journallers on my flist - you just have to dig a bit harder to find them ;)
Ditto all of this! :) There are some people still posting but definitely not as much as there used to be. I also find I'm lacking in people reading and commenting on my own journal. I wonder sometimes if Facebook has made people too lazy, they'd rather click on a 'like' button than actually put thought and effort into writing a post or comment.
See that's why I like Tumblr sometimes - because it requires less effort. I can just like or reblog a post and it says a lot about me and hopefully conveys some kind of affection to the person you like or reblog it from without having to engage as much. Sometimes I just don't have the mental werewithal to engage.
I've never seen any actual written posts on Tumblr, it's generally all just been gifs or images, like Pinterest. And the whole resharing thing is too much like Facebook, my news feed on there is already full of crap so that doesn't appeal to me all that much. I think that's why I've never understood why so many people like Tumblr, it just seems to be duplicating stuff that's already there. I can appreciate not feeling able to engage with LJ though, sometimes I feel like I don't have the brains to response to posts or comments so I tend to leave them for another day.
Your LJ is almost as old as mine! I've had this one since January 2004, although the one that's now my writing journal was my first actual account. So much has changed since then. Brad was still in charge and you had to either pay for an account or get an invite code from someone who already had an account. And now everyone's leaving it for Facebook or *shudder* Tumblr. I've lost a lot of friends on here, mostly in the last year or two which is very sad. I used to have to go back over 100 entries on a daily basic. Now I'm lucky if I have to go back onto a second page.
What's the difference between a paper diary and a paper journal for you? I have a diary that I use for appointments and stuff, and another one where I write my thoughts and stuff.
Nothing turns out like you want it to. Or how you expect it to :(
I really miss you posting more here, though lately I don't post as much either. I just don't feel as inspired as I used to when I was younger & I guess FB etc. have taken over to some degree.

I heart Tumblr, I follow some really amazing people on there.
A diary is for appointments and a journal is thoughts and writing up what I've been up to.
