Co-Captain Jack Sparrow of the good boat ship The Seed Pearl, had recently done something very bad, and done so without consulting James. He'd invited a boy back to their ship. To make matters worse, he'd implied they'd be able to give the boy a job, or at least find him work. But as far as Jack knew, that meant they'd have to give young Chase a ( Read more... )

Chase is a bit later than he'd planned. He needed to be carried to the clinics again and his chest has been wrapped up. He shouldn't have taken them off to begin with, but now at least he knows better. He hates that tight uncomfortable feeling, though, and the sluggish way the pain killers make him feel. He walks down the docks with the little crayon-scrawled note in hand. He feels sort of foolish reading the names off of each boat, but what can you do?

When he finally spots The Seed Pearl, it seems awfully small. Oh well. It'll still be the biggest boat he's ever been on.
Hardly dressed for the job; Chase walks up to the boat in a baggy black band t-shirt and tight black jeans with a studded red belt.

"Jack? Hello?"

James had been feeding Union Jack when he heard Jack talking up on deck. It was probably just someone nearby; Jack had a habit of talking to anyone. He patted Union Jack on the head, and cleaned up.

The boy was thrilled to see he'd found the right boat. He smiled as brightly as he could manage for Jack. He was still sore and tired. He was very timid in crossing from the dock to the small ship's deck. It was his first time, after all.

"Yeah, it was a little harder than a street address, but I managed... woah."
He made it on deck, instantly proving to have no sea legs at all. He swayed with the ship's every shift and tilt, and the boat was still docked.

"Sorry I'm late. I..sort of overdid it and had t'get my bandages redone."
