Karn Evil 9 First Impressions Part 2

Have any of you ever listened to this song? Ever since I heard it playing in the episode “Let It Bleed,” I’ve been obsessing over it. It was playing on the radio when Samuel was trying to move rocks as a kid. I can’t seem to shake the nagging suspicion that it was placed there as foreshadowing. Just take a look at some of these lyrics ( Read more... )

Huh, I didn't even notice that was playing - I'm really unobservant about these things. Interesting observations...hopefully Emma's head won't blow apart, I do rather like her. :-P

Me too. But I was more thinking that Samuel would use Emma to blow other peoples' heads apart.

Oh I see! That makes more sense. :-P I think I should get some sleep before I attempt LJ commenting.

It doesn't help that I worded it kind of weird, either.

Christ...I hope that's talking about a death that already happened...or Hiro's near death experience. That's if we believe the lyrics are subliminal messaging...which I do. If it's not that then it seems like the two most likely are Sam, Hiro or Sylar.

Great post here...I don't pay attention to the music that often except to nod my head at a good beat once in a while...gotta start paying more attention.

Thanks! The opening lyrics really grabbed my attention, plus the fact that it was Samuel who was listening to it. I will jump on anything related to Samuel.

Personally, I hope it's just a reference to the end of the psychic remnants of Nathan inside Sylar's head from earlier in the season, what with the reference to the skies and all. But my gut is telling me that if they do kill someone off it will be Samuel. He's way too powerful just to let free and there's no prison that could hold him since the Company no longer exists. I don't want that to happen, though. I like Samuel. He's my favorite character.

Nathan = skies You = Brilliant
Oh, that's good...it could be Sylar's Nathan purge...but that would make me a little sad if the purge continues...I like him having a few of Nate's memories but not being Nate.

Samuel dying would crush me...I know they have a thing for killing off the big baddy. Linderman, Arthur, Sylar for brief moments. I really don't think Sam is deserving of it...As great as Linderman and Arthur were they were type perfect bad guys Sam isn't...He should stick around like Sylar...if they must get rid of him do it in a nice "You'll see me again Charles for I am Magneto" sort of way.

There's too much they could still do with Samuel and with Sylar heading toward redemption, they'll need a new permanent baddie. There's already such a great parallel set up between Samuel and Peter, albeit on opposite ends of the class spectrum. Plus people with alliterative names seem to be important in the series. I'll be living in a little land called denial until I watch the finale. Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch it tomorrow night.

But unless they can find some way to effectively neutralize Samuel's ability to gather power from the proximity of others, then they might have to go that route. Maybe Hiro could drop Samuel off wherever Charlie was sent. That would be poetic justice. It lets us have the possibility that Samuel might find a way to return. It worked with Adam -- until, you know, Arthur touched him... If there are other people around, Samuel could potentially find his way to someone else with time travel abilities and use his charmisma on them to get him back where he belongs.
