I can't believe this is the first time you've been exposed to cricket! I guess I grew up with it in Australia so it seems totally normal, and of course they're cricket mad here in England too, except that Australia keeps winning. The official line is that it's chess played on the field, but I think it's really just an excuse to stop rushing and relax for a few days.
