Today I got a call from a friend and then confirmed with another friend still at my former employer's office that they let go another 40 people since the last set of layoffs in Nov. Sometimes I wonder - are some companies using the bad economy as a smoke screen to reduce their workforce because they are not making good business decisions?

I don't know all the people but it was on the business side in all three locations.
