I'm interested in hearing from those of you who know about caring for children. The younger, the better.

[Private to Yuri]

Now that the others know, it may be best if we make it public information, for the sake of those beyond Brave Vesperia who know us. There's little sense in causing problems by surprising them later.

children are trouble, yuri, question for the masses, bleh babies

The younger, the better? I'm afraid any advice I could offer you would be most suited for the age of three or higher. Also, it would mostly be in regards to raising them, as opposed to actual care. However, if you're still interested, I will gladly answer any questions you might have.

I... suppose I hadn't given much thought to children older than just infants... but I shouldn't be so small-minded about it. Children do grow up, after all...

[Oh crikey Gelda now she's even more worried.]

One would hope to keep them young forever, but sooner or later they'll be old enough to fling porridge with a spoon. This comes with a bright side, of course. Toddlers are much more apt at showing their appreciation for the work you do. Before you know it, you'll be presented with a drawing they made themselves.

...That doesn't sound so bad.

[Except instead of drawings she's seeing the kid with their very first weapon. With parents like her and Yuri, it's really to be expected...]

Young kids can and will idolize whatever their first caregiver is, regardless of what that caregiver is like. It's therefore the job of that caregiver to be a decent being.

That's probably the most difficult part - waiting to see what kind of person they'll be.

Children aren't that hard to influence. The issue comes in who is influencing them.

I'm well aware of that.

Heh, I was just going to ask you about that myself. I'll get right on it.

Mm, thank you, Yuri.

...You seem happy.

Yeah? I guess it's from everything settling down. [Mostly from Estelle coming back, but things being less stressful and crazy is definitely in there.]

Yes, things have gotten much more cheery around the house with her back. I'm glad you're happier now.
