The strange object influenced the whole meal. The four diners didn't want to order the most expensive meal available in case they had to pay for more than one meal, but didn't want to buy a cheap meal that they wouldn't enjoy. Conversation was difficult, as everyone at the table apart from Amy were racking their brains for the use of her purchase.
