Hey guys, I've been watching the Persona 4 anime on Anime News Network, but this week there seems to be no episode. BUT, other sites seem to mention it/have it listed. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the deal since I obviously don't know how to Internet. I'd rather not get all spywared by some sketchy site if I can avoid it... Is ( Read more... )

Did you get the true, true ending? :U I felt it was weak until I got that, and then, I was ~_~

I mean, as far as I know. Maybe there's an even realer one if you, like, press X on the second controller at a certain point in the final cutscene. I got the "medium" ending at first and thought it was boring but fine. But I have to say when I found out what you have to do to get the "true" ending it pissed me off so much that I was like, "Game you better be fucking amazing" and then it was just Persona 3's ending all over again (get final battle power from your maxed social links, now you are invincible), without the sadness that made it interesting.

I still like the game--I had a lot of goodwill toward it for it to use up, but it certainly did try. Oh well, I can at least enjoy the anime.

Aaaah. Was making sure, as a friend of mine was tricked into thinking the 'good' ending was the true one.

I'd definitely say Persona 4's on the lighter end of the spectrum when it comes to the Persona series- I myself liked the ending and how it mimes P3's in a specific way. A tragic ending probably would have seem forced since, here, it'd mean the party's efforts don't truly stop the cycle from happening all over again 50 or so years down the road.

Which makes the endings where you don't solve the entire mystery sort of sad, to me, especially when you don't find the true killer. LOOK AT THE FACES OF YOUR DEAR FRIENDS, YUU; THIS MAY BE THE LAST TIME YOU SEE THEM.

Oh yeah, I definitely don't think it should have been a sad ending. Really I would have liked a happier one--maybe say "one year later" and everyone's having fun at the Amagi Inn. Just something a little more satisfying. I think I like the medium ending better, really, because I think the small scale is the best thing about Persona 4. You're not saving the world, you're just saving a small town. The EPIC FINAL CONFRONTATION stuff seems forced to me.

Strange since I do love the "cosmic grandeur" stuff of other SMT games, but that was kind of the most innovative idea of P4, the smaller scale. But I suppose it's my choice--I could have just left it at the medium ending, so it's my fault if I don't like what I got.
