How does this work, again? My fingers do the bangy thing on the keyboard and make words and then I hit "post" and suddenly it's thirteen years later and I'm gay and have a baby the magic happens?

Hallo everyone! I hope you are all very well, and happily romping through whatever fandom pastures you've scattered to now (perhaps a few of you are still ( Read more... )

Yeah, I'm still here. Admit it, you're not surprised!

I've been enjoying Little S's occasional FaceBook appearances, but it's good to see you back here too.

Between you getting into Torchwood and splendorsine (aka. verlaine) and Bea being into Sarah Jane Adventures those Doctor Who peeps must be doing something right!

Dom, it is absolutely true that I regard you as a force of nature. It's not just that you've been a steady friend for more than 15 years (!), it's that you were equally sure-footed when we were college-aged. That is downright uncanny. <3

Since I believe that I am responsible for Bea's moral education, I am relievefd to hear that she is being properly raised into the Whoverse.

<3 you too!

It won't be long, I'm sure, until Bea is emailing you to squee about your shared fandoms!

HI! I only read here every once in a while since I am on my own PhD adventure. Congrats on the baby! That is fantastic. I think you two must be absolutely primo parents.

I have not read torchwood fanfic, but of COURSE jack/Ianto is the way to go. Please pass on recs of the good stuff.

ooooooh, exciting! Public health?

Will do re Jack/Ianto recs. Filthy or non-filthy?

Jack/Ianto: filthy is great although pure filth without a decent story is a little wasted on me,and I am happy to read satisfying non-filth as well. Have you seen all the Torchwood available at this point? I thought it was quite interesting how as the series goes on, they give those of us who were rooting for Jack/Ianto a bit of fanservice along with the horrendous bleakness.

School: Sociology! Although I will likely be a sociologist within public health when this is done, if that makes sense.

I know, right? Also, I went to a *party* last night. What is this, 2004?

Did you dress up?

I did! It was a Peter Pan party, and I went as a pirate, "pirate" being the costume I could more or less pull out of my wardrobe. It was fun. I spent a lot of time in a corner with some lesbians talking about assisted reproduction.
